SUSTAINABILITY AT SAJO
Fashion, by nature, comes with an environmental impact. While there is no such thing as a truly "sustainable" fashion brand, we at Sajo believe in creating thoughtful, intentional pieces that minimize waste and honor the craftsmanship behind every garment. We are committed to doing better every day, prioritizing responsible production, and ensuring that the people behind our clothing are treated with respect and care.
Our goal is not to chase trends but to craft timeless, beautifully made pieces that you’ll cherish for years to come. We are continuously researching new ways to improve our processes, reduce waste, and support ethical practices across our supply chain. Transparency is at the heart of our approach—we won’t “greenwash” or use sustainability as a buzzword. Instead, we remain committed to progress over perfection.
LIMITED QUANTITY PRODUCTION
We believe in slow fashion and small-batch production. Every piece is produced in limited quantities, ensuring that we do not contribute to the cycle of overproduction that plagues the industry. Rather than mass-producing, we create only what is needed and restock based on real demand. This means that each Sajo piece is made with care, precision, and a commitment to lasting quality.
We also take steps to ensure that no fabric goes to waste. Any remaining textiles from production are repurposed wherever possible, rather than discarded.
OUR FABRICS & PRINTS
At Sajo, fabric is at the heart of everything we create. Each print is illustrated from scratch, bringing unique, custom designs to life. We have always been inspired by florals, and this passion is reflected in the hand-drawn textile illustrations that make up our collections.
As we continue to grow, we are committed to sourcing more eco-conscious materials and exploring fabric alternatives that align with our sustainability goals. While not every fabric we use today is fully sustainable, we are dedicated to making better choices at every step.
SUPPLY CHAIN & ETHICAL PRODUCTION
We work with carefully selected factories in Nigeria, China, India, and Turkey. Ethical production is non-negotiable for us, and we strive to work with partners who uphold fair labor practices, safe working conditions, and responsible manufacturing processes.
To ensure compliance, we collaborate with third-party auditing services that assess working conditions, environmental impact, and overall factory standards. By keeping a close, transparent relationship with our production partners, we continue to refine and improve our approach to responsible fashion.
OUR COMMITMENT TO RESPONSIBILITY
-
Intentional Design: Every Sajo piece is created with longevity in mind—not just for one season, but for years to come.
-
Conscious Consumption: We encourage thoughtful purchases by producing timeless designs that go beyond fleeting trends.
-
Continuous Learning: Sustainability is a journey, not a final destination. We are committed to evolving, learning, and integrating better materials, practices, and processes as we grow.
Fashion is a powerful tool for expression and empowerment, and we believe it should be made responsibly and respectfully. At Sajo, our vision is clear: to create beauty with intention.
